ABOUT US
	Brad Johnson Quarter Horses
was founded in my hometown of Concord, NE, in 1997. It was at that time I
bred my current AQHA show mare to AQHA leading sire Deck of Stars with gift
money I received from friends and family for high school graduation. I
profited on my first foal and have been breeding to World Champion sires
ever since. That resulting foal is still showing successfully today 15 yrs
	later!
	While attending college at
the University of Nebraska, I became involved in intercollegiate horse
judging and earned top 10 honors at the Quarter Horse Congress and APHA
Sweepstakes, including winning the performance placings at the Congress. I
grew in my knowledge of American Quarter Horses during my college years by
interning at AQHA leading breeders Dan McWhirter Quarter Horses in 1998 and
Steyskal Stables in 2000. Dan and Carol were standing AQHA legends The
Invester and Good Asset at the time and breeding hundreds of mares per
season. I gained valuable tutorship in equine reproduction and mare
management from fabulous attending veterinarian Dr. Dennis Smith. During the
summer nights, I stayed up reading World Show and Congress sale catalogs
studying and memorizing pedigrees and successful crosses!
	Upon completion of my
undergraduate studies, I was accepted to Veterinary college at Kansas State.
Upon graduating Vet School in 2005 I accepted an equine internship in
Glenwood Springs, CO. My desire to be closer to family lead me back to
Nebraska in 2006 where I currently raise American Quarter Horses and
practice Veterinary Medicine. I could not have been successful at raising
Quarter Horses with out the help of my mom who sacrificed hundreds of hours
cleaning stalls, foaling out mares, and hauling mares around the country
before shipped semen was widely used. So many other people have contributed
to the success of our program as well.
	In 2008, Brad and Shelli
were married, and Shelli's lifelong dream of owning horses became reality.
Shelli imprints each foal and provides the behind the scenes help to get the
babies off to a great start and the yearlings marketed. Through it all, God
has been showering his grace and mercy over our program and has truly
blessed us with wonderful mares, foals, and customers. We are thankful to be
involved in an industry that we truly love.
	Sincerely,
	Brad and Shelli Johnson
